Our Team


Sunita obtained her LL.B. (awarded Gold Medal) from The School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, and recently followed it with an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, Washington DC, USA (awarded Thomas Buergenthal Scholarship). Prior to her study of law, she obtained her M.Sc. in Cytogenetics, an MBA and a Diploma in Computer Science. Sunita has had the distinction of being nominated for the "IP Woman of the Year 2008" Award by the organizers of IP Summit held in Brussels on December 4, 2008. She has been recently inducted in the rosters of the International Who's Who of Professionals.

An advocate and a patent agent, Sunita started her legal career at the High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam attached to the Law Offices of Kuruvathazha & Kuruvathazha handling a variety of matters chiefly, writ petitions and appeals. Thereafter she relocated to Delhi and worked at Anand and Anand, from where she resigned as a Partner heading Life Sciences & Geographical Indications (GI) group. Sunita is a member of LES, APAA, AIPPI and INTA, and has been empanelled as legal counsel for the Protection of Plant Variety and Farmers' Rights (PPV & FR) Authority, Ministry of Agriculture.

She is the legal advisor on the Central Technology Management Institute, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). She has been involved in the drafting of various parliamentary bills requiring protection of various intellectual properties including the access and benefit sharing of traditional knowledge. Presently Sunita in her capacity as the Legal Advisor of the WHO, and ably assisted by the SKS Law Team is presently in the process of drafting of the National Health Law for Bhutan.

A prolific author, Sunita has authored a book titled "Introduction to Intellectual Asset Management" published by CCH India a division of Wolters Kluwer. Her articles, analysis and commentaries have been published in MIP, Business Briefing Pharmatech and IAM among others. She is also a frequent speaker at various fora, including WIPO and LESI seminars.


Bharti is a Lawyer and a registered Patent Agent. She is a vetinerary doctor by training and has earned her Masters in Veterinary Biochemistry from Rajasthan Agricultural University. Thereafter she earned her Law degree from MGS University.

She was selected for training in Intellectual Property Rights under the Women Scientist Scholarship Programme of TIFAC, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. She possesses ample experience in the area of Intellectual Property Rights, including Prior Art searches on various databases, Patentability Searches, Freedom to Operate Search, Landscape Analysis and Patent Mapping.

An experienced Patent Agent dealing in filing and prosecution of life-sciences related patents, Bharti is also experienced in filing and prosecution of trademarks, copyrights and industrial designs.

Previously, she worked with Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi as Senior Research Fellow. There she dealt with life science related patents, issues relating to data protection and drug affordability in India.


Mandeep is a Patent Engineer with M.Sc in Physics and M.Tech in Microelectronics from The Punjab University, Chandigarh. He is adept at conducting prior art searches and has been handling a number of patent drafting in his area of specialization.


Daisy Sharma is an Associate with a background in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She has been honored under the Women Scientist Scheme of Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC). After completing B.Pharma from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, Daisy earned her M.Pharma from Gautam Buddha Technical University (GBTU), Uttar Pradesh. She handles drafting and prosecution of patent applications. Daisy also assists in litigation matters pertaining to Life Sciences and the Pharma sector.


Divyanshi Bansal is a Junior Associate at SKS Law Associates. After completing her B.Tech in Biotechnology from Gautam Buddha Technical University (GBTU), Uttar Pradesh, Divyanshi earned her M.Tech degree in Pulp and Paper Technology from IIT Roorkee, Roorkee. After that, she has also completed PGD in Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Management from GIIP, Delhi. She handles Patent Searches, Filing, Drafting and Prosecution of patent applications and other IP forms. She also assists in projects related to the Biological Diversity and Traditional Knowledge and in maintaining IP status of clients.


Geeta Singh is a Graduate in Arts from University of Delhi. With over 10 years experience as paralegal in IPR, she handles correspondence and matters pertaining to legal cases with our National and International clients. She is skilled in conducting various trademark searches on variety of database in order to ascertain availability of the trademarks, preparing and filing forms independently relating to trademark and copyright registration and preparing response to the examination reports issued by various Intellectual Property Offices.


Deepti Khurana is a Commerce Graduate from the University of Delhi. She also possesses Diploma in MBA (Finance). She is well experienced in accounting and has years of experience in auditing. She has worked earlier with the CA firms as an articled assistant mandatory under the course of the Chartered Accountancy. She is a semi qualified Chartered Accountant. Deepti is associated with SKS Law Associates for the last 5 years and handles the accounting of the Firm. She is also handing the administration department of the firm for the last 2 years


Stephen John is a Graduate in Arts from University of Delhi. He handles preparation and filing of documents, applications at the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Offices as well as in Courts, docketing and deadline management pertaining to legal cases with our National and International clients. Stephen is experienced in tracking and reviewing the bibliographic details of publications of the Indian Patent Applications, following up with the Patent Office for the corrections of bibliographic errors and maintaining the database.
